Translating is the art of decoding the universe of written words converting them from one language into another language

whatWhat is Professional Translation?

"Professional Translation" here refers to non-sworn translation, i.e., a translation with no legal effect.

Professional translation is used in a wide range, from letters and e-mails to literary texts, scientific reports, advertising materials, technical and even legal documents, as long as it does not aim to produce legal effect (in this case, it must be a sworn translation).

Although it does not have legal effect, as a sworn translator I perform the same quality check and promise a faithful and accurate professional translation.

In addition, because of my condition as individual translator, I offer high quality translation service at an affordable price.

In order to deliver a more natural and accurate translation as possible, I carefully research the background of the manuscript and the necessary technical terms in both the source and target languages, pursuing expressions that are faithful to the original and more natural and appropriate in the target language.

If there are terms unique to the customer, different from the common use, you can send me the specific glossary in advance so that I can apply it to the translation and deliver a more accurate result.

I strive for service excellence, so quality check is thoroughly performed in order to eliminate omissions and misspellings and to revise technical terms. Quality control is thorough, with text correction and proofreading of the entire text at least three times after completing the translation.

Because of years of experience, I am able to handle a large amount of text in far less time than translators in general, without compromising on the quality of work, so I deliver the translated text strictly on time, even with tight deadlines.

After delivering the translation, I remain available to reply to any question the client may have and, for one month after delivery, I am committed to correcting and/or revising the translation free of charge.

BE AWARE!

You may wonder why pay for a translation if today there are automatic online translators that are freely available.

Although machine translation has taken a long leap forward and can be useful to get the main point of a document across, human translation is still a critical component, particularly when quality is required.

Machines try to translate based on a pre-stored glossary or a set of algorithms and mathematical formulas, but quality translation is based on the context of the document and not just on the words in the document. Only the human brain is able to understand subtle nuances, insinuations, and metaphors - both in the source and target languages - and knows how to deal with them.

If you want a quality translation, leave it to me!

langHandling Languages:

Technically, the word 'tradução' in Portuguese means passing a text written in a foreign language into the official language of the country, in this case, Portuguese.

The reverse, that is, when passing a text from Portuguese to a foreign language, is called 'versão'.

There is also 'versão dupla', when you convert from a foreign language to another foreign language.

However, in general, the word "tradução" is used to encompass all these meanings.

The languages I work with, whether for translation, version or double version, are JAPANESE, ENGLISH and PORTUGUESE.

The greatest proof of the quality of my translations is the recognition of customers represented by their high repetition ratio.

priceHow much does it cost?

Translation price is set by the number of characters or words in the text.

Usually this number is based on the final translated text, which results in great insecurity for the client, since the final value is only known when the translation is completed (often exceeding quoted amount).

In order for customers to feel secure and to give more transparency to the process, my price is based on the number of characters or words in the source text.

Thus, the client knows, at the time of ordering, how much he/she will pay, not being surprised at the end with a value higher than quoted.

My translation between any of the languages I work with (JAPANESE - ENGLISH - PORTUGUESE) has a flat price of BRL 110.00 (one hundred and ten reais) for each set of 200 words in Portuguese/English or 400 characters in Japanese*, called 'lauda'. This value can be increased by 50% to 100% depending on the complexity of the text.

PowerPoint materials are charged at the amount of BRL 68.00 (sixty eight reais) per slide, regardless of the number of characters/words thereon.

I accept translations from 01 (one) 'lauda'. Texts with one 'lauda' or less will be charged the value of one 'lauda' and texts that exceed a 'lauda' will be charged the proportional value.

For translations of 200 or more 'laudas' and for which sufficient time was made available for their execution, I provide a 10% discount. On the other hand, for urgent services (for delivery before the delivery date proposed in my quote), a fee of 50% to 100% over the value of the service (without discount) will be added depending on the volume, content and level of urgency.

My translations keep the layout and formatting of the original and are delivered in the same format, unless otherwise requested by the client.

Supported file formats are text, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, etc.

Note: Particularly complex layouts may result in additional fee.

* For counting of words or characters MS Word Count Tool is used. Please note that when counting the number of characters in Japanese, punctuation marks and symbols are also counted as one character in the above-mentioned function.

The original text can be in any computer file format (text, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, etc.), including image files (JPG, GIF, etc.) if they are clear and in sufficiently high resolution.

Even if the document is not in editable text format, I am able to make use of an OCR program to make it editable so as to enable word/character counting.
